PSM-2100L Satellite Modem

Note: The PSM-2100L has been replaced by the more modern and capable PSM-4900L, full L-Band satellite modem with integral Bias-T, OCXO reference and included external BUC power.

The PSM-2100L offers the same incredible performance and fast acquisition as our 70 MHz IF modems. It uses our proprietary ASIC chips and direct modulation and demodulation for superior stability and reliability. Transmit spurious is also extremely low due to direct modulation techniques.

The PSM-2100L is a variable data rate programmable satellite modem with a modern L-Band IF interface operating over a full 700 MHz IF range of 950 to 1650 MHz. This digital modem is programmable for either BPSK or QPSK operation and can be used in SCPC or TDMA (remote site burst modulator) systems. The PSM-2100L includes standard integral Viterbi Forward Error Correction and can be outfitted with an optional concatenated Reed-Solomon FEC codec. It is available with a standard digital interface (RS-422, V.35 or synchronous RS-232), or optional ADPCM analog interface.

Key Benefits

bulletLow Cost - Uses BUC (Block UpConverter) and LNB instead of standard converters. This is the key element to a low cost VSAT terminal.
bulletAll the "smarts" are contained within the modem.
bulletPerformance within 0.3 dB of theoretical.
bulletData rate programmable from 3600 bps to 2.100 Mbps in 1 bps increments.
bulletIF frequency programmable 950 to 1650 MHz in 1Hz increments.
bulletDSP for fast acquisition of 1 second at 9.6 kbps QPSK, 0.6 second at 16 kbps QPSK.
bullet1 U rack mount unit with complete front panel and remote control.
bulletFully compatible with the 70 MHz PSM-2100 allowing use in the same system.
