PSM-4900H Hybrid Satellite Modem
The PSM-4900H is Datum Systems' new low cost modem intended specifically to
build low cost VSAT type small stations. It matches the performance and features
of the PSM-4900, but connects directly to the L-Band output of an LNB to
eliminate the normal receive downconverter equipment. The transmit uses a standard 70 MHz
IF output eliminating the potential transmit problems of L-Band transmit
systems. The PSM-4900H Satellite Modem is manufactured for System Integrators and is available
with private labeling for volume customers.
This newly designed modem uses all of Datum Systems proprietary design
technology implemented with the latest available parts to achieve the best performance and reliability possible at one of
the lowest costs on the market.
The PSM-4900H is a variable data rate programmable satellite modem with
70 MHz Transmit and L-Band Receive IF. This
digital modem is programmable for either BPSK or QPSK operation and can be used in
a wide variety of system configurations. The standard PSM-4900H includes integral
Viterbi Forward Error Correction, programmable data interfaces and built-in 1:1
redundancy capability. It can be outfitted with a variety of options like an IBS
Multiplexer with AUPC and a concatenated
Reed-Solomon FEC codec and the new high performance Turbo Product Codes FEC . External interface converters are available for Ethernet
and G.703 T1 or E1.
