PSM-4900 Satellite Modem

Production of the PSM-4900 Series Modems have been discontinued.

The newer M500 Series of Modems (PSM-500) replace the capabilities of the M5 series at a lower cost. They also offer many new innovative features. Documents for the PSM-4900 are still maintained below for your use.

Each is a compressed or "Zipped" file that will require WinZip or Windows XP to un-compress. Click on the appropriate link below and choose the "Save" option to save the file on your computer. The "Unit Version" can be read on the modem's front panel LCD display by selecting the Unit button, the Status column and then scroll down to "Version".

M5 Series (PSM-4900) Firmware Update Program

The M5 series requires a Windows OS PC (2000 or XP), a COM port and a standard DB9 male to female serial cable.

DOS M5Loader Program:

You should only require this older DOS based firmware update tool if you cannot use the newer Windows based "M5Update" program above. The software is designed to use with the same '.BIN" modem firmware releases above, but require either a batch file or command line execution to invoke.

The DOS update is supplied as a "kit" including the Instructions, Loader program and 4 sample batch files to run the process from a windows machine. All elements are "zipped" into a single file for easy downloading. You still require the appropriate BIN files from above to use this program.
